Lemforder

Unread post by Jeff »

Has anyone got any tips on where's the cheapest place to get Lemforder drop links?

I am replacing the front pair and the cheapest I can see is £35.40 / pair which sounds reasonable but thought I'd ask.

Another point, its a shame the French Car Forum does not have an affiliation with a supplier who would provide a small
discount for the free advertising, in other trades/buinesses they do it with clubs / organisations?

Thanks for any advice.

They look to be £19 each on carparts4less (a cheaper version of eurocarparts, with free delivery), so £35 for a pair is good going!

I'd have to check receipts but I think I got my Lemforder drop links from carparts4less as well.

Another one to try for Lemforder is http://www.mister-auto.co.uk/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They have their own house brands that they like to push but there is a button at the bottom of the list under "other brands" for Lemforder as well. Now and then mister-auto do heavy discounts, I got a spark plug lead set for my V6 from them for 40% off!

Also note that most suppliers supply droplinks without nuts or washers so allow yourself a few quid to buy some nylock nuts and washers.

GSF no longer supply Lemforder branded droplinks. The only place I could find that does them off the shelf is Eurocarparts @ £50 a pair inclusive. This was very useful to know when a pair was needed in a hurry yesterday. Apparently caparts4less is the online branch of Eurocarparts.

Sadly one has to beware of fake branded goods almost everywhere these days. I have seen a very well known DIY store, amongst others, selling Dulux paint which is certainly fake, and I've given up using Anza paintbrushes as you can't guarantee they're genuine anymore and the fakes are useless.

I'm constantly puzzled at the devotion to Lemförder. It's quite possible that some of their Xantia range has been relegated to a lesser facility (such as their Spanish plant) and may well have changed in quality. This could give rise to the idea of fakes.
