Central locking won't lock and/or unlock Citroen C5 2001?

Post by james125 »

Hello all.

Just acquired a Citroen C5 of my father, he gave me it as I bought him a new one....something wrong about that :?

Anyway the problems with the door locks are as follows;

Nearside front doesn't lock :x
Nearside rear sometimes stays locked - not that this is a major concern...
Offside front (drivers door) locks and unlocks perfectly :-D
Offside rear doesn't lock :x

All the pins sound like they move when I turn the key, so I'm really unsure if what's going on. :?

-Also the remote central locking doesn't work, not really important but would be nice to do, is it easy to replace batteries?

Thanks again!

-Apparently opening doors is a new requirement coming to the MOT.

All four doors MUST open from the outside for mot..

There is a known problem about rear offside doors sticking locked after the child lock has been applied.. if this is the case the door card needs removing which is possible with the door shut and the protective cover removing from around the lock and child lock activator switch.. you can then see the activator red switch inside the door and actually can switch it off IF ITS on and the lock should resume to normal..

Front near side could be a broken wire between the door and car or again a sticky lock mechanisem .

As for the plipper try replacing the battery.. theres only one.. if that doesnt work youll need you security key card code and a lexia session to re program the key to the car...
