Ok, I paid particular attention to the way the car drove on the way home today, I have to say I was rather impressed, I think it feels a different, not in the it's a different drive category, but something is different...... if that makes sense?

I only wish this car had driven like this from day one, I love it, the difficulty now is that there is a potential purchaser on the horizon..........

Do I sell, or do I keep? Time to put my thinking head on.....

You have had a year of niggles. See how a couple of months of proper running (now Jim has worked his magic) feels before making any decision. IIRC SWMBO has given you room to manoeuvre as to whether to keep it.

I know James, and yes she has, the good thing is though that IF I do sell her on she will be going to a fellow C6 owner and keeper of another classic Citroën, so there would be some good come out of it......

I would still give her a couple of months to see if you can now trust and enjoy her, or if the shine has gone off.

=D> =D> =D> nearly fell of the chair laughing, No Mike the C6 stays PERIOD. That car makes me smile and you can't put a price on that. So she stays.........

Xantia, I'm leaning more towards keeping her at least for the moment, and as you say "see what next year brings" I'd really like to finish her off and win one prize with her, I hen I would be happy.

You and me both Jim, she really is a better now :-D which makes the decision to sell a harder one, but that's what I've decided to do, I have taken this decision lightly and I know there will be people saying that I'm mad, I should sell the C6 or the Peugeot but it not what I want to do.

I'm not particularly interested in the money side, although I have put a hefty price on the car, for various reasons. I have a fellow Citroën who has shown interest and that where I am at the moment.

I plan to continue doing small jobs like sorting the Cruise Control until is goes or doesn't as the case maybe.

I think you've made the right choice, and it looks like you've found it a good home, so good luck with the sale. Nice though a Xantia is, I can't imagine it being a patch on either of the other two.

I've spent an hour or so this morning looking at the cruise control, and it's still not working, the connections at and from the brake pedal are fine, I've had the seat out and cleaned the connection under there but there appears to be nothing wrong there either, so it looks like it's going to be a split pipe after all......... I'll have a look at that tomorrow, subject to weather, now though it's time to do battle with insurance companies............ [-o<

I spent a couple of hours on the Xantia this morning and it was productive. I found the Cruise Control problem, which was a split pipe at the vacuum pump. That was swiftly repaired and a road test confirms that is is now functioning :-D then it was time to give it a bit of a valet as it's not had one for a while, after that a couple of tea, tidy up and get ready for work............

Well done. Now all you need to do is to drive it for a few months to see if your (and Jims') hard work has resolved all the problems and helped you to regain your trust.
