Adding Eolys fluid to C5 2.0 HDI

Post by hamster99 »

Hi All
Can anyone point me in the direction of any guidance on refilling my C5 with eolys fluid. Where's the tank, how difficult is to get at, how much do I need etc.
Cheers

I did my 2.2 mk1 last year and was quite easy.

I got 4 litres and the filling kit (bottle). The tank on mine was at the rear just before the rear wheel on the the left (near side) of the fuel tank. Remove the tin shield for access to the filling plug, remove the filling plug which on mine I think was green. The rest should be straight forward, I did make a small hole in the bottom of the filling bottle to aid it pouring into the main tank. I just held my finger over the end when refilling it, best to have someone helping.

Hope this helps, I did mine while on a ramp but should be fine with suspension on the high setting with wheel removed and on an axle stand.

I didn't think the C5 2.0 litre HDI had the eolys system

The early ones don't but I believe that it was introduced with the facelift.

Not saying his is the cheapest, personally I would have the dpf removed, but try searching for Pat fluid on Ebay

Paid approx £90 - £100 for 4 litres. Euro car parts sell it.

Unfortunatly and as far as i know if the vin has the 4 letters RHRH then it has a dpf, and mine has those letters. Only 48000 on the clock, so hope not to worry yet.

This is the fill up port looking from the passenger side. The cover is hanging down after releasing 3 of the 4 fixings, its just a case of attaching the line and having the bottle/supply line higher than the filling port so it runs straight into the tank. You'll need rubber gloves as a very minimum but i'd recommend glasses and an apron as well, the Eolys is highly poisonous and a biohazard!

Dam apron and gloves so that's why the tips of my fingers disappeared.

Ay up!

I'm confused. Nowt new there says Mrs XN!!

I have a '52 plate 2.0 HDi C5. Does this have a PF and Eolys tank? And how do I find out.

Always been a petrolhead, now a dieselnut!
