I would first apply Plus Gas daily for a week. That might help to loosen it off.

You could try an "easyout" that fits in the allen key hole. You should be able to get a shifter on the square of the easy out for some purchase.

one possability after liberal applications of plus gas, If you can find one would be try hammering in a star drive bit?? have used that before when had issues with rounded alen bolts, although, if it uses the square hole drain plug, that may not be of much help??

Buy a pump to suck the oil out through the dipstick tube.

It's not ideal, but if you are going for the pump method, invest in a decent quality "Pella" pump. There are plenty cheap ones (silverline etc) on the market, but the take ages to pump the oil out. You will still have a seized sump plug though. Best to get it out and replace it, as you have been at it with a chisel and hammer. You might have damaged the copper seal and if it leaks later it might be more difficult to remove.

as others have said use stillsons or a decent pair of Vice grips ( not Mole grips ) as they are rubish,

you shouldn't need plus gas as this thread lives in oil

I would concur, a decent pair of stilsons should shift it if there is still enough to get hold of, if not find a large nut that will slip over it and weld it on.

Drill through it with a small bore bit and let the rest of the oil drain away, then take a larger bore bit and redrill and then another larger bit. You should now be able to just crush the remainder of the chewed up plug to remove from the sump and refit a new plug.

that would be fun,
i would use an air drill if attempting this,

but im sure the stillsons or a decent pair of Vice grips will suffice

Grips of any sort didnt work.the outside of the plug was completely round same as the internal area for alan key.
heated it up and it still didnt budge. this is one stubborn plug!

Followed saabc5 idea and drilled the sod out and replaced with new.
Looking at old threds (what was left lol) lots n lots of thread lock applied but tha still no excuse for y it didnt budge.

But hey its dun and thank you all!

I have found that an Aston super wrench can grip quite firmly. I have used one on a round scaffolding beam to lift myself up;

http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-4pk-Aston-S ... B00BU51V0C" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They say that they need a flat surface to work properly. In my experience, if the metal is soft enough the wrench will still bite on.

Pipe grips might well have done the job as they would contact 75% of the plug O.D. Not to worry, job done.
Thread lock eh? the threads don't seal, so a bit pointless.
