Hi guys
I have a solar Panel to keep the battery up on my laid-up C5 (06), is it OK to charge via the ciggie lighter (it has a plug) or does it have to be direct to the battery, its a low volt trickle charge but I was wondering about the Can-Magic wiring ?
Cheers

Don't know what it's like on a C5, but the lighter socket in my Xantia isn't live unless the accessories are switched on. I can't see why it wouldn't work however.

Re: Charging battery via Solar Power
the one i have on ther BX is direct to the battery at the mo as the Battery back up on the alarm is screwed and sucks all the life out the battery in a couple of days, so it stays disco'd,
i did have it wired into the main terminals (auxhillery ones with a few extra take off holes)with the wire run through the bulkhead and upto the accessories tray with an R/C car battery plug soldered on so could be unplugged quickly and stored in the back of seat pocket,

As above. Check the socket to see if is live with the ignition off, if it is OK, otherwise check the other sockets, I think there may be two.

LOL....too much fussing to re-wire as the ciggi lighter goes dead, I'll just feed/squash the wires past the doors, the seal is soft
Cheers guys...
