wheels, tyres, sensors

Unread post by Stempy »

A new message has just started to appear on the info screen telling me that one of the wheel sensors is missing. Assuming no one has come along in the night and gone to the bother of nicking it I assume one has packed up doing whatever it does. So is there a way of telling which one?

As it could do with new tyres all round I was also wondering about getting some new wheels to go with them, the standard ones being a bit ugly and stupidly difficult to keep clean. Can the sensors be fitted into any aftermarket wheel or are they a special Citroen fitting?

I beleve the sensors are glued on the inside of the Rim, HOWEVER, with the age of your C5, if its a Series 1, you can actually Leagally disable the system. Its only cars sold from 2011 which NEED to have the pressure sensors working..

IM NOT ADVISING YOU TO DISABLE THEM, simply stateing that if they are real headache you can leagally disable them. (With a Lexia Session)

And I would imagine a Lexia session will reveal which of the sensors is the culprit.

Well mine tell me which wheel sensor is showing the warning.
Incidentally, I suspect you can disable any tyre sensor as it has nothing to do with legality. There is absolutely no legal requirement to have sensors so if you wanted to remove them and disable the warnings via Lexia there ain't no law against it.

As I said, "if you want to remove them" and disable the warnings. If you remove them, they ain't gonna be fitted.
