Door protector trim, safe removal?

Post by John Plum »

I wonder how I can remove a xantia mk ii door protector trim - ie on the outside, without breaking the clips and, then replace it.

Is there a nifty method?

Due care is a good start. However you may well break some of the clips anyhow. They're cheap.

You might start by pushing out the two clips visible at the door's leading edge when opened. That will afford some gentle leverage.

If you're taking the door card off, you can use a ring spanner (I think 8mm might be about right) from the inside, and as you push it over each peg it squeezes them enough to fit back out through the hole.
