I wonder how I can remove a xantia mk ii door protector trim - ie on the outside, without breaking the clips and, then replace it.
Is there a nifty method?

If you're taking the door card off, you can use a ring spanner (I think 8mm might be about right) from the inside, and as you push it over each peg it squeezes them enough to fit back out through the hole.

Good idea xac - yes i'll be taking it off to swap round electric/manual window windermechanism - (I have just hung a replacement door in the right colour).
