This from memory, car not here right now.

Push menu on the radio
Use up down keys to get to display, press ok, the middle button I think
Use up down keys to set time and date, press ok and so on

Some will reset using RDS signal so maybe tune in to BBC station and drive round for a bit, try the manual for the radio if you have it, if its a mainstream brand you can sometimes get them off the manufacturers website. I suppose it depends on how or even if the radio talks to the display. Maybe someone else here has an aftermarket radio and can help. I do in the synergie, but the clock is separate in that.

Speaking of RDS, mine is very dormant - has never announced anything except a month ago I put a CD in (Ektos Programatos - Eleftheria Arvanitaki) and it said "Tracklisting not found" or something similar.
Which wasn't altogether surprising as it is, as you might have guessed, a Greek CD.

I have tried a few other original CDs since and - nothing!

Is it the music I listen to perhaps (nothing mainstream).?

It won't set off RDS anyway as the clock is in a separate display from the radio & as its an aftermarket radio it's not connected to the display.
If the radio has been replaced with an aftermarket one on a full CAN C3 the only way to reset it is to borrow an original radio & plug it in.
