Hypothetical of course.

Re: Alternative fuels?
Shouldn't have much hypothetical trouble with red diesel (apart from with the tax man, who gets very upset about such things), I have a feeling it's slightly gloopier than regular car flavour and probably doesn't come with all the additives they tend to put in for the benefit of modern injection systems. Although I could be wrong, tractors are getting just as clever these days too.
Bio is open to debate, I should think the oil stock used has to be very clean - so either straight or very clean waste veggie oil, not any old muck like the XUD would run on happily. And it's probably best to shove a bit of mineral diesel in there just in case.
Biodiesel is a bit of an annoying one these days, straight veggie oil isn't as cheap as it once was. A few years ago it made quite a bit of sense, once you bought the whole kit and kaboodle it would have only taken a few tanks to pay for itself. These days veg oil is nearly as expensive as diesel, if not more so!

Re: Alternative fuels?
General consensus for HDi's is veg is a no-no.
Biodiesel should be OK (5% is in normal derv anyway if memory serves) but I know some engines are not rated by their manufacturers to use more than 5%
Sell the C8 and get a nice 1.9TD Xantia and a Costco membership so fuel only costs 79ppl

If my ZX hadn't passed on I'd be laughing...I can waltz into Costco so long as I show them my work ID card...

Re: Alternative fuels?
Well made Bio is fine in any diesel engine, you run into problems if it hasn't been made correctly or is full of water.
