Megane 2 (2004) 1.5 Dci Injection failure

Unread post by xsaras4ever »

Hello to all from France.

We have a Megane 2 and its showing injection failure (in french or course).

It has done 280,000km.

Certain it is injection failure because opened the exit of the pump to take samples of diesel and sample had some metal and loads of cardboard.

This is probably where the metal has "sandblasted" parts of the filter around the system, right ?

We have just bought a recon pump, but we are just posting to confirm that it is a situation of "change everything" isn't it (ie: pump , injectors , common rail) plus clean the diesel lines and flush out the diesel tank ?

Thanks

I have just got away with changing 2 injectors on one of these, whilst normally t is change everything as you say.
Remember the injector codes have to be programmed in.

i had the same on my 1.5 scenic and i got a pump off ebay £180 injectors (x4) £90 the set of ebay 1 copper injector seal off nissan dealer £2. and a good mechanic who did me a favor as the fuel pump sits on the timing belt and is a bit of a gamble if you do it yourself
you should flush the full system but i understand that to do this the tank needs to come off that involves dropping the rear axel off, and the full fuel line pump filter high pressure lines etc should be replaced the estimate i got was £1400.
its about time Renault admit there is a major issue with these pumps self destructing and righting off good cars

Sounds as though the filter failed and as Renault don't make injection systems I'd say it's not their fault. They have plenty of their own to account for.

Fitted recon pump, replaced 2 injectors, new diesel filter, flushed fuel system.

Fitted new timing belt kit as the same time.

FIXED.

Good result, well done, these are a cracking car when working correctly.
