Who ate all the pies...

Post by centurus2400 »

Not I, but despite that the interior foam padding on the drivers seat of my 2001 C5 LX estate is beginning to break up.
The seat is staring to display a strange lumpy appearance on the side bolsters and base cushion.

I'm assuming the easiest option would be to find a complete seat unit rather than trying to get hold of just the cushions?

I guess I'll have to try and find someone who is breaking one with at least a reasonable interior - I'm looking for the dark grey fabric with the sort of sqares on it, not the spotty version :-D

You should get a set of standard seats for next to nothing from the scrappy or from ebay, I have recently thrown a set away, fitted a set of leather electric ones, £100 from the breakers.

I'm located in Oxfordshire, so Kent is a fair old trot.
If I could find a good leather interior I'd certainly consider fitting it, but the only one on ebay at the moment is up the other end of the UK and is the wrong colour

I'll keep looking, despite the lumpen appearance of the seat it's still quite comfortable.

OTOH if anyone here has the correct replacement that's surplus to requirements please get in touch...

I just bought a nice set of electric leather seats from Herts for £130. They are infinitely better than the cloth seats.

I must be the only one who doesn't like leather. Cold in the winter and rips your skin off in the summer. The seat covers are all starting to tear on my car, have started glueing patchworks on!

I don't particularly like leather either but I do like the range of adjustments they have and I don't think they make electric seats in cloth.

My 1997 Series 1 Xantia VSX had Cloth Electric Seats, the most comfortable seats and driving position of any car I've owned to date.

The leather Electric seats in my Series 2 Xantia Exclusive which whilst comfortable and certainly give me no real cause for complaint, are definitely not as comfy as the cloth ones were, especially in cold weather when the drivers seat heater doesn't work!

They did on the facelift Peter. Mate of mine had a 2006 exclusive with cloth seats and electric adjustment. (not heated though!)
Not sure if the Mk1 had electric seats in cloth before the facelift came in.

OK, have never seen any, I think they must be a bit rare.

Thanks for posting that Malcolm, it's just up the road from me but I had no idea it existed. I'll have to pop in for a look around.
