C5 electrickery

Unread post by Stempy »

Can anyone tell me what the LED next to the colour LCD information panel is for? I have found it in the parts list but it's just described as an LED. Is it actually an LED or is it a light sensor as I've not seen it light up yet? :eh:

On mine it is the Trafficmaster indicator.
Trafficmaster is now defunct.

Ah, that makes sense as the Trafficmaster in the Xantia had the light in the button. When you say Trafficmaster is defunct, do you mean they just don't support the older systems in our cars?

Ahh so that's why the blue poles with cameras vanished? Surely the police could have bought them to track cars they want?

Trafficmaster are still very much alive and kicking, http://www.trafficmaster.co.uk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I know the Sales Director.

I think they still support the system in Xantia & early C5, but you'd need to ask as they don't actively promote it.

Buy any new Citroen van, Berlingo, Dispatch & Relay and you get a Smartnav system included for free, which has a colour screen, does Telematics, Nav & stolen vehicle tracking.
There's a version of C1 fitted with a Trafficmaster system for the telematics to monitor driving style, speeds etc as a way to reduce insurance for young drivers, it sends the driver emails with how they are driving with a traffic light system of how good or bad their driving is! All very Big Brother!

Trafficmaster it seems are indeed still alive and kicking, they just no longer support the older Freeway/Oracle systems fitted to older vehicles, so yah boo sucks to them blah2:

I have same LED and was also wondering... Prefer the idea of the dilithium crystal status tho-haha. Not used or set up the traffic master but is does sometimes nag me for a code when I start the car.

The LED on my C5 lights up in certain areas, so the Traffic master system seems to be receiving something :?
