Opinions on some wheels please! - I've been playing on Paint

Post by Timmo »

A'ffnoon Chaps,
as its now the school holidays and i have just enough time on my hands inbetween referee'ing the girls from the hourly fighting and arguments i've been not at all busy playing with ms Paint!! - Real men do it with MS paint!! apparently! ;-)
anyways, ive 3 paint orientated renditions for you to have a nose at, if you'd be so kind!! ;-)
one set, the Dotz 5 spokes are close to me on ebay and cheap, the C5 alloys are also close, the others are the pug gti 180/hdi alloys ive always liked and thought they'd suit the car,
now due to my purely Rad skillz, they may not be sized quuite correctly! ;-)

std trims as it sits,

c5's

Pug alloys (17's)

the Dotz (17's)

these are purely rough renditions but i quite like the larger 5 spokes as they are angular and quite suit the wagon!! but also like the c5's as they are close to the exclusives alloys!

anyways, just a play and would like your opinions!!

ta muchly in advance,

Timmo. The not MS paint wizzard! :-D

Haha! Looking at my pictures, they do look best don't they! The only ones I didn't do are the 1.9 gti 205 alloys i've got on thje BX with spanky new tyres on, I refurbed them a while back in pearl black with alloy rim, - they are almost certainly going to be going on as tyres are down on the wagon and it'll Need 4 for the next mot!

I use MS Paint all the time, love it!

As for the wheels, IMO the C5 wheels so similar to the originals that it's not worth bothering with. Really like the Pug wheels, but I think the Pug lion is integral & that would drive me mad. I like the last option almost as much as the Pug ones. I think Xantias look great with non standard alloys & you hardly ever see them.

Thanks matey! Some of the pug alloys have solid centres and some dont, seems the same design is known as Challenger And Vortex, I think one has the removable centre and one solid?
Am keeping an eye on the dotz, they are local, but would need spacers so cheaper the better! ;-)

I was thinking they are more in the 20s range haha! Iirc a 17" wheel+tyre is very little difference in physical size than the 14's??

I've always been a fan of the 206 Gti 180 alloy , as said they would look better with Citroën centre though .
