Xantia 1.9TD Orange warning light

this is on now & I cannot find handbook
orange light with a "dashed" circle in it.
what does it mean please?

Front brake pad wear indicator I think. I'd be surprised if it's actually reading right on a 9 year old car, but stranger things have occured!

Even stranger considering I changed pads last weekend!!!!!
I must have reconnected the sensor wire incorrectly?

Check that the pad wear sensor is in it's clip and not rubbing against the disc (which wears through the insulator and shorts out). My did that, and the light flickered for a while...
