Ignition barrel help

Hi all i need to replace the ignition barrel on my xantia 98 the heater is working when it feels like it and when thats off so is the heated rare window can anyone explain how i get the plastic housing off that surrounds the ignition and steering column iv'e taken the screws out pulled the two halfs apart but something is holding the bottom half in it all seems loose but it just won't come off i don't want to end up breaking it.Also is the barrel easy to fit.

No exp. on Xantia ignition barrel strip down - but knows that the electric switch assembly is available separately as spare.

Is it the switch assembly i need then not an ignition barrel are the two seperate.

After removing the two screws under the column, take off the upper cover. On the right hand side of the lower piece, there's a screw holding the shroud to a small clip on the steering column.

YES - the switch & barrel can be disassembled as 2 parts.
