Mine has one, it's also T reg with RP number 8263.

There was a different type of water heater used on some Xantias which used 4 heater plugs a bit like diesel glow plugs mounted in a block. This unit plumbed in to the matrix feed hose and effectively does the same job as the Eberspacher.

I remember a thread a couple of years back when the issue of careful and thorough bleeding was raised if this type of heater was fitted. If there was an air bubble still in the heater the whole lot could easily overheat and burn the hoses.

The Eberspacher is a magic piece of kit in the winter if it's in working order. :-D

I wonder if I could retrofit one of those electric jobs, it sounds like a good modification, any idea what other PSA vehicles have them ?

Its COMPLETELY random. Personally I wouldnt have one fitted the extra water pipes which incidentally are Steel pipes in sections do rust.

My V reg 1999 Exclusive does NOT have one but a customers V reg does. However, I think my Exclusive is a 98 model year with block warning lights on the dash, customers had outlined. My mate has a T reg 98 Exclusive and its also not fitted to that.

The "Heater Plug" unit which is clearly visable at the back of the engine has one plug in it and two yellow wires and a white earth. It should be possible to fit it, but not sure how its controlled

I prefere not to have it, less crowded under there and most of the time they dont work, the fan is a common failiure apparently..

The 'plugs in water' heater units are completely useless & I bet most of the people that have one all the glow plugs have long burnt out & they don't even know. Not very effective at all. If I remember right they are controlled by the injection ECU.

Agreed. I wasnt saying they were any more usefull. Just Id rather NOT have the Ebser wasit unit.. and so less in the way and less chance of water or fuel leaks..

Wasn't it an option, or part of the winter pack?

The electric plugs on mine were still working at 110k when I changed the cambelt, cos I cooked the unit after start up  Still weeps to this day....

My 406 Hdi has one and very pleased with it to, I get warm air from the heater in a couple of minutes. I found when in Scotland this year that my C5 also has one, no mention of it in the handbook or manual but if the temp drops below about 10C up comes the heat even when the temp gauge is still on the stop. Maybe all later Hdi's have one, don't know how you find out.

What I mean is if they weren't working you wouldn't notice any difference.
