dCi Engine Mounting

Unread post by steelcityuk »

Hi All,

The other Scenic (dCi 130) had a serious vibration issue that was particularly bad at idle, my suspicions were the top right engine mounting. These are fluid filled to improved their performance. Removing it was easy enough and it was obvious it wasn't right because it could be easily manipulated by hand. I found a used replacement on eBay for a good price.

The faulty one is on the left - notice the rubber part not touching the metal housing.

Cleaned up and fitted - it only takes minutes if you unbolt the alloy part and treat it as a 2 piece item. Rear 'dog bone' bolt has yet to be tightened.

Hi Lexi,

I don't know what Renault would have wanted but a Febi Bilstein is £77+, I got the part from OTS Renault for £21 inc delivery. I'm hoping to have it in for a MOT next week, once that's done at least one of them will be going.
