A milestone passed today...

Post by citroenxm »

Today, the Xantia HDi passed a milestone..

From what im aware, this car is ALL original, original clutch from what I know, original Head Gasket, original turbo.

Still no oil useage, no water useage. Slight injector rattle to be expected..

So, err, you somehow managed to take a picture of the mileage counter passing exactly 250,000 miles while you were doing 70mph ? Good job you didn't hit anyone while getting that perfect photo...

Good going Paul, but we all know these 8v HDis are good for it and a lot more. :-D

Mine only has 168,000 miles to go and it will have caught up!

Well done Paul, great photo. I always have my passenger take my speedo pics ;-)

I must get me another Xantia. I never have anything to talk about on here now. I feel left out.

Well done Paul =D> .. I'm there with you.. but unfortunately, due to my speedo being replaced at 79263 the current reading of 181300 doesn't quite as spectacular..Well done on the 70mph photo as well!!
I tend to sit at 55-60 nowadays thats probably why I've just passed 480 miles and the fuel needle has jut dropped below the top of the 1 on the 1/2.. I feel another 900 mile tank coming on :-D
Here's hoping for another 250K ....

I got fed up with the morons on Autoshite Paul, the childishness really spoilt it. The original AS site was good, as it was a bit more controlled. Here is controlled to an extent, but I think we all know what's acceptable and what isn't. I like this place (FCF). I only have a Berlingo though!

If that TD SX had a working aircon, I'd say yes. I bet it hasn't though. My head/nasal problems really benefit from a aircon. It's a lifesaver in the Berlingo.

My first Xantia was an M-reg TD SX back in 2003. I put a new clutch in it, 4 new Michelins, a new radio/CD thing, kept it spotless, then wrote it off :-(

Actually mike Yes it has. i fitted it in myself and got it working well. just need to add a proper s1 dash switch and vac and gas it up.

Do you want some modern up to date pics of it? Dont really want a lot but ive done everything to her in recent miles. @ 200k new clutch new heater matrix, s2 front strut tops, air con fitted ive even got a later s1 dash with tiny glove box to go in it to tidy the interior. orignal s1 glove boxs were bigger without air con you might recall..and if you really want ive got manual leather i could stick in it to get it oit my way. Its currently got vsx seats and door cards in it.

Yeah, go on then, why not. I'm trying to make a profit on this MX5 I've got too which will be a lot easier next week. It's supposed to be 30c !

I remember the larger glove box, and then buying an S2 car and wondering what the point of the glovebox actually was :-) The leather also sounds interesting
