Mine goes down when the ignition (engine) is switched off. Surely that's normal.
Rick.

2007 Renault Clio Campus sport. 1.2l

Sometimes the change doesn't work.

Not really.
It should only sink a small amount overnight. Mine drops at the most an inch, sometimes not at all.
I have noticed though that after a quick and bumpy run the rear will sometimes drop a bit to normal height from a slightly raised level after reversing into a parking place and opening a rear door or the boot.

This is recognised where the steering is off centred and/or the ground uneven or on a slope.

It is also possibly due to wear of the height corrector (burned tracks) or dirt ingress.
