Sphere Brands

Unread post by Old-Guy »

Apart from Citroen, GSF (Amtek), AEP & Westron, I'm sure I found another brand on-line in the past, but all I can remember now is that they were German. Anyone any ideas or better still, recommendations, please?

you WONT go wrong with IFHS from AEP/Citroen Services... they are cheaper, and useually not much older then 8 to 10 months .. I wouldn't touch GSF ones now, they have supplied me Flat spheres more then ONVE before now...

I dont think Id bother worrying about any other make really...

GSF have got horribly expensive (relatively speaking) and in any case I can't make sense of the spheres their site listed for the VSX. A muddle of Hydractive and non-hydractive and no front centre sphere.

It's not just their sphere listings that are a muddle Old Guy, they have their handbrake cables for the Xantia incorrectly listed as well, as I found out the hard way some details of left and right cables are mixed up, despite me phoning them up and telling them after I ended up with the wrong cable... They also claim their handbrake cables fit the V6 but one of them is the wrong size...discovered after about an hours worth of swearing under the car...

Do yourself a favour and get your spheres from AEP!

Only advice I have is avoid Lizarte (Spanish I think) as badly made. Bad threads wouldn't fit rear rams.
The only real alternative I have here is Monroe which have worked out ok as regards quality so far, ordering front ones soon.
