Citroen Xantia Lights and heating equipment fails

On my Citroen Xantia 1998 1.8i When I start up the car the headlights and all lights and heatingsystems inside the car stopes working. What can be the problem. Is the Ignition ( where I put my carkey ) I hope someone can Answer this.
