Xantia brake pedal mod

I want to remove the spring bit from my xantia brake pedal, I can feel the plastic plunger bit and wobble it about but dont want to break it, ISTR being told it just pulls out ? anyone done one recently ?
BXs since 1993 built 1.9 TZD turbo, got a S2 Xantia estate, brilliant car! 2013, Xantia HDI LX 110 2000 new car with 122,000, l C2 HDI Rusty rocket, C3 Picasso HDI new to me.

I did it last week! I needed to pull the brake pedal up as far as it would go then prise the plastic plunger assembly off with a flat bladed screwdriver. It's a bit of a squeeze down there and it's almost impossible to see what's going on but once you get the screwdriver in the right place it should just pop out.

Much more positive feel now, it may take some getting used to.
