Creaking Xantia suspension o/d/f

Hi All, my car has developed an increasingly alarming creaking noise at the front right.

Here's what it probably isn't:

P bush - replaced a couple of months ago
ball joint - replaced a couple of months ago
Steering rod - makes no noise when turned on the spot
Driveshaft - OS replaced a couple of months ago
Suspension strut - no noise when going over speed bumps or when adjusting suspension height
Roll bar drop link - I'm very familiar with the knocking noise these make when on their way out - I did Old Faithful's at least 5 times

The noise occurs as I turn a corner and weight transfers to/from the front right wheel. On another car I would suspect the anti-roll bar bushes. I'm not familiar with the Xantia setup there as Old Faithful never did this.

Weirdly, i can't replicate the noise no matter how hard I shake the car on the spot. It's audible outside as well as in when I drive with the window open

It appears to improve as the car warms up and I drive a few miles.

Have you looked really closely at the strut mount (top)? Does the strut boot keep falling down - the classic symptom of a failing strut mount. You do not want a speared bonnet.

It happens to my activa TCT to... And also can't locate the noise...

Do check your strut tops, as a failed one would not be welcome!;

Yes I know about the strut mounts and mine are not in a good condition and are intended to be replaced.
I've heard that Xantia MK2's strut mount doesn't fail completely so it can't "blast off". Is that correct?

I had the wheel off and took a good poke around - wouldn't it creak with any bumps not just body roll? Where exactly should I look to check the strut mount? Looks fine from under the bonnet.

I would look at Taffys' later posts. Some of the pictures were VERY scary.
