C5 Fault Code Resetting

Hi Folks

I need some help sorting out a niggly problem.
With the help of member Hirameuser and his Lexia (thanks Phil) we tried to reset the fault code that displays "tyre sensors missing".
After about 40 minutes we thought we had it, but as I was leaving his place, the same message appeared on the dash .

What I could do with is someone to talk us through the procedure step-by-step so we can get it right next time.

I'm assuming that there are in fact no tyre sensors due to them having been removed at some point ?

Clearing the fault code alone won't do any good as it will still be expecting to receive updates from the sensors, so after a period of time of not receiving any updates it will flag a new fault code.

What you need is to go into the configuration options and tell it that there are no tyre pressure sensors. Where that is exactly I don't know as I don't have a C5 but I'm sure I've seen this discussed on the forum before, its probably in the configuration options of the BSI. Try the search function on the forum for "c5 tyre sensor" or similar and something should turn up, or someone who knows the answer may see this thread.

Yes we need to know if there are still sensors present or not & also if its a mk 1,2 or 3. Mk 2 & 3's have there own ECU for the tyre sensors, the mk 1 is incorporated into the BSI. If you are trying to reset the sensors that are still there you also need a special emitter tool to do it as we'll as Lexia. Best just to unprogram them, they are more hassle than they are worth.

It's a Mk1 (2003). I've had 4 new tyres fitted (not all at the same time) but didn't ask for plain Schrader valves to be fitted (I assume they would). If I could find the receipts that should tell me.
The strange thing is, it was saying for example "sensor no 3 missing" at the same time as "sensor no 3 battery low". I'm puzzled

Sounds like the battery has gone in the sensor on the wheel and has turned off the transmitter.......... what you can do about it, I'm not at all sure

I just did my wife's c5 exec 2003 today here is how I did it.

Go into the bsi ecu page and select configuration.
go down the list until you get to the pressure sensor present line.
Highlight the pressure sensor present line it will highlight in green.
Click the authenticate button and it will change to missing.
Ignore the pressure line which will say 2.3 bar.
go to the bottom and click save.
it will come up with a message saying "write is available but needs a code"
click authenticate or ok
it will then ask for a code
enter 03114 and authenticate.
done.Sensors are now turned off.
No more missing sensors or STOP YOU HAVE PUNCTURED TYRES!

By the way, I've dug out the tyre receipts and noticed that there is no mention of new valves being fitted, so I assume the duff sensor ones are still present. I hope this won't make a difference.

It won't matter if the sensors are still in the tyres as the computer won't be talking to them any more you can check by looking at the wheels if the valves are rubber then the sensors have been removed if the stalks are metal then the sensors are still there.
