XM Wire Cut - Very Odd - But Why?

Post by AndUK »

This query is regarding my 1995 two litre turbo XM (Mark 2).
I have just noticed that a brown wire which is part of the wiring loom going to the ECU appears to have been deliberately cut and separated, it seems too inaccessible to have happened accidentally.
Would anyone have any idea why this would have been done?
What is this wire for?
The car seems to be running as it should, despite this.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The Citroen wiring looms consists mainly of brown & green wires for signals/controls - so it would be a matter of tracing the wire to both ends.
Could be one of the warning lights that commonly is more a nuisance than worthwhile info - like brake pad wear warning etc.

Does the ABS indicator lamp light up when you turn on the ignition? If not, that's your wire! (some people would rather go to the trouble of finding the fault indication wire and cutting it instead of fixing the problem itself).
