best brake pads for xsara?

hi was going put new pads on the car. cleaned them not so long ago cause of break squeal but after few months started again. what would be the best pads! cheers sean

Did you put any grease on the back of the pads? If you did, was it copper slip grease? It is quite surprising how much of a difference this can make.

ya clean them and used copper grease. i dont think they is much left on em so was just going change them as well as cleaning and grease!

is there a lip on the edge/s of the disc's,
if so either replace the disc's ( best option ), or bevel the outer and inner edge's of each pad off, basically so the edge's of the pads dont contact the lips of the disc's

That's giving away trade secrets! :wink:

I've just beaten an almighty shudder/squeal on one car with a thorough prepping of the hub face where it is covered by the disc (was heavily corroded) - had to fit new discs as the old ones were visibly rippled from the wobbling. Only takes a thou or two and you can hear/feel it.

Best way to beat squeal is to always brake firmly, then release.
