Works mechanics have confirmed the Turbo has blown on my v reg xantia 2ltr hdi 90,
And chucking oil out exhaust, there reply is scrap it. Me I love that car, so is it worth fixing ie, Turbo
and exhaust etc, any opinion's, price's on a Turbo or help welcomed. Just want to weigh up the costs
Before I make a final decision as she's only done 94,000.

To overhaul the origional unit will cost about £350 if you remove the turbo and give it to a turbo repairer. A used one could be sourced for about £80 I would think, they do not fail often on Xantias, so used is worth considering.

I also would go for a secondhand one, just check that there is not much lateral movement in the rotor. I would agree with Lighty, they very rarely fail so you have an excellent chance of getting a good one.
