Lexia help in East Sussex please

Post by Fake Concern »

Hi
I haven't got to the bottom of my problem of the rad fan not coming on, see thread http://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/v ... =3&t=44453" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so I wondered if there's anyone with Lexia near by who is willing to hook it up & see what's what?
I'm in Bexhill, but go up (& back down) the A21 every day.

Thanks

Peter

Instant thought is citronut in St Leonards On Sea. Probably not too far off your route to/from the A21? :)

Well I called in to see Malcolm (citronut) in Hastings on the way home from work. Was really nice to meet him, such an interesting chat, he showed me his ongoing projects, 2CV van in more bits than when starting the assembly line!
He plugged the VTS into the Dis-Lexia laptop to see what we could see, all very interesting & lots of faults I didn't know I had! However no faults showed for cooling and there didn't seem to be any option for doing an actuator test on the rad fan as I'd been told (by Citroen technician) that you could, so no further on with the fan not coming on.
We also looked at deactivating the TPMS, which Malcolm found ok, but in order to save the change, it asked for a password which we didn't have.
I have to say I was impressed by how well Malcolm knew his way around the system despite him saying he didn't (especially on a "modern")! It was really interesting & makes me think I should invest in one as I'm sure I could amuse myself & do untold damage with it!
So a million thank yous to Malcolm & I'm bound to see you again now I know where you are.

(edit) I forgot to ask for an autograph!

There should be an option to actuate the cooling fan in the injection ECU menus. Also depending on the fan set up there is sometimes the option to activate the mid speed via the BSI menu.

The passcode you need is 03114.
