Espace repair manual

Unread post by DrRog »

Hi folks, :)

I like to know how my car works. I am not happy treating it like witchcraft and I prefer to do whatever I can to look after it and to reduce my servicing costs. This is also relevant to my keeping older cars on the road, I have just given up on my third 17 year old car so you will appreciate this is not an unsuccessful approach.

My new Espace is an enigma, you struggle to find anything, there is no space in the engine bay and it's unbelievably complex electrically, but all the same there is a few things I am sure I could do.

Can anyone recommend a suitable service manual, with lots of pics and diagrams, so I can do jobs in a hurry when needed?

I have found these soft versions:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251008967350? ... 1423.l2649" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.docstoc.com/docs/150901577/2 ... ice-Manual" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Is either any good?
thanks for your opinions :)
Cheers

:?
Docstoc downloads a short document containing a link - which you have to allow to access the site.
Sounds a bit fishy to me. What's wrong with allowing me to download and virus-check normally? #-o

Found this:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/RENAULT-ESPAC ... 8967350%26" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Its in pdf form and pretty cheap so I have given it a go. [-o<

I will keep you informed of the outcome. :)

The CD ROM arrived quickly. It contains some stuff from the Espace III and I will need to go through and see if it is complete for the IV.

I have been using the disk a lot lately, indispensable I would say but the files are badly labelled, mixed up between models and appear incomplete.

Recommended but a pain as sold. :roll:

I have a similar one for the Vel Satis. Better than nothing.
Our cars share quite a bit. Let me know if you find the coolant bleed nipple at matrix.

I will have a closer look when I change the 3 rear spark plugs.

OK
Worth finding, I had the coolant system bled as I thought the heater was under-performing. The garage said it was only a small air lock but I felt it made an appreciable difference.
