OBD port

Hi all

I have an ODB blue reader flaoting around at home but doesnt work on C5 mk1

So what cables do i need to read the onbaord ecu? also software please?

A C5 mk1 most likely can't be read by any standard OBD-II reader as it's not OBD-II compliant despite the same type of socket being used.

You'll need a Lexia to read it. These days a Lexia is just a special interface, cable and software for a Windows laptop. Check the Lexia / Diagbox sticky threads or one of the many other threads floating around the forum about the Lexia for more information. A Lexia would let you do more or less anything that a dealer could as its the same tool used by dealers.

All C5 Petrol engines should be OBDII compliant as EU regs required them to be from 2001, and diesels from 2004. Apparently you can check on service.citroen.com to see whether it is complaint.

My 1999 hdi 2.0 hdi has a bluetooth obd reader off ebay and I use apps on my phone to read The data such as torque etc..worth a try for a tenner
