Detailed Model History

Unread post by XantiaExclusiveHDI »

Hi everyone :)

I'm reading & learning more about the CX from forums such as this & CCC.

During my reading I wondered if there has ever been published a detailed model history for the CX? I have read the basic info on Wiki & Citronet - but I can't seem to find anything which goes into more specification detail & differences between the models. Is there any such thing?

I must say I had no idea so many models were manufactured if this is anything to go by - although I'm not sure how accurate it is?

http://www.parts-specs.com/Citroen/CX

Also have any books been published (aside from repair manuals) about the CX - I couldn't find anything - well not in the English language

Thanks!

If you can get hold of the hardback book "La CX de mon pere" then that's quite a good one. The only trouble is that it's in French, but there's lots of interesting pictures...!  The detail that it goes into is quite good.

There's was a recent publication of the CX however that was generally just a collection of old road tests etc.

There is, however, a new Citroen book coming out this year - a proper book written by a proper enthusiast! Not just the CX, but lots of others as well. September time I think it's coming out...

Regarding CXs, most anoraks on here know the model differences...!

That link shows a good line-up, although the UK didn't get all of them - namely the Limousine models.

The new book sounds interesting :)

I'll have a search for the French tome.

I feel I will be looking to move on my Xantia for an earlier car at some point in the future - and the CX seems to sit about right with me.

Without wanting to hijack my own thread - I wonder if you might have been the partnership that bought my Xantia SX V612 HEU some years ago :?: I seem to remember two guys who travelled up from Cambridgeshire after winning it on eBay!
