egr solenoid

Post by Rob H »

Hi everyone i have had some problems with my car, first i blew it up and it wouldnt start so i narrowed it down to what i thought was the wiring loom, i changed that to find out it wasnt the problem.

i then put an open ecu in to bypass immobiliser and the car fired up but wont rev past 2500rpm.

the codes im getting with my comp are:

P0380 - Additional heating circuit; short circuit to earth or open circuit
P1517 - Coded anti-start function; function faulty
P1402 - EGR damper, solenoid valve circuit; short circuit to ground or open circuit
P1613 - Computer configuration; configuration missing or incorrect

its the P1402 EGR Damper im more concerned about.

do you guys think it may be the open ecu at fault or is it more likely a wire i missed out somewhere while rewiring it .

the car is a 2000 x reg 306 2.0 hdi

Personally I would be more worried about the ECU config, I would think that the ECU is incorrect in some way.

would that not be down to it being an unlocked ecu, because it bypasses the immobiliser maybe.
