This

Or from Pug/Cit at £125 and it'll only have a year warranty

I'd say it was a bit of a no-brainer really...

Why....you're not paying dam near 3 times the price for fun, there must be quite a diffirence in quality, or I'd like to think so

I think we'd all like to think so Stu but the vendor of the ebay one must be pretty confident of his product to offer a three year warranty...

Or.. I'd like to think he was...

I suppose the better question to ask would be this: does anyone have any experience of these particular ebay pulleys?

Just to say am currently using a cheapo £40 pulley atm on the 406 after the original failed, and it seems as good as the original.
That being said, it is designed that if it fails it spins, not like the Xantia which can pull in or out, so worst case it fails, starts making noise and needs to be changed.
why?

That it spins when it fails seems very sensible to me...

thats the trouble with E-bay "shops" it may be the front for a very succsessfull specialist parts shop sourcing quality parts from OE Manufacturer or it may be a couple of Eastern European gangsters with a lockup and a container of knocked off chineese junk.

Just cause they have typed "3year warranty" how can you test this? Id got a track controll arm for the Dispatch and what arrived didn't really match what was on the van despite reassurances that it was the right one didnt even fit ( despite wrestling with it for a day) as the tapped holes were out by a couple of mm. Got a Lemforder one from P4U which fitted in 10 mins.

Caveat emptor
Tho id take a punt, all looks ok! :-D

I've tried 2 eBay pulleys for my 2.2HDi C5 and one failed after 4 weeks and the other was so out out of balance it made the tensioner jump half an inch each way. I ended up getting an OE Citroen pulley on the Bay for approx £80.

Definitely, but its the inconvenience of doing the job twice (especially if you're paying somebody else)
