Mud flaps

Mud flaps

When driving around corners or on hills at any speed a hear what I think are my rear mudflap(s) catching on the ground. Is this normal? It happens whether in sport mode or not.

could be the wheel touching the flap

I bought an expensive rear bearing kit for the Van only to find the metal frame for the flap had bowed due to rust and crud and it was touching the wheel as the van heeled over with a full load on right handers -adjusted with the 2 1/2lb tool
kissing the lash
white van (turbo, computer and built by Citroen, what could possibly go wrong!)
orange 2cv
blue 2cv( been to the Sahara and back)
red Dyane( in bits)
Skoda (thank goodness there is a teutonic vehicle on the drive)
Stainless Siemens fridge freezer

I had this with my front mudflaps. If I remember rightly I bent the metal bit of the flap away from the tyre which helped but didn't go away completely. This was with the blade type ones not the contoured.
