2007 Clio keyfob battery change.

Whilst not being in the Arnie Swarzenegger class, I'm no wimp, but I cannot get the key fob sections to slide as described in the handbook. I need to change the battery and the book say "Slide the cover on the remote unit"
Yeah, sure, I've had pliers, drivers and mole grips in play, and I cant shift the two halves. Is there a trick to it? Cheers.

OK, found the answer online. Slip a small screwdriver through the open section for the keyring, and give it a sharp pull upwards, forcing the arrowed slide panel downwards, then peel the two halves apart.
Simple, but never in a million years could anyone simply "Slide the panel" with their bare hands. (Maybe if the key fob was brand new and greased with silicon grease)

Changed the battery . It took all of 30 seconds, as the parts guy said don't hang about as the synchro could be lost. Anyhoo, no difference. The key fob flashes red, just like the old battery, and the remote doesn't work. Strangely, the internal central locking button on the dash works fine, and even more strangely, with the fuse removed too!
Does anyone know if the key fob light should blink red or green. I've convinced myself that it used to be green. The battery has the same numbers on it, except that the original was a CR 1220 3v and the new one is a B 1220 3v. The guy assured me that it was a direct replacement.
