Turbo Electrovalve
Just a quick question what does the turbo electro valve do as I disconnected mine and it made no difference to the running of the car Cheers Ian
Thanks Ian

Re: Turbo Electrovalve
Depending on what car we're talking about here it allows the control of the wastegate (old diesel/most petrol turbos) or the variable geometry (variable nozzle) vanes in a more modern/high tech diesel.
If it didn't make any difference, there must be something up - most turbos will default to safe condition (wastegate or vanes fully open, minimum boost) when control fails.

Re: Turbo Electrovalve
If there's no vacuum on the turbo it should be at full boost. The greater the vacuum the less it should boost. Maybe your's is stuck on semi boost? Might be worth a look at the turbo linkages maybe. Full boost permanently should throw an alarm btw. I agree that you should notice a difference in it

Re: Turbo Electrovalve
I believe that is the case but mine is playing up and I am trying to go through things one at a time to try and ascertain where my fault is as I have said in previous posts it sounds like air is either blowing by or leaking I have checked for leaks and have not found any so now I am checking other avenues this all started when I changed the swirl diaphragm. Thanks Ianwaynedance wrote:May I ask if stuck at full boost would that mean top end power but non low at low speed?
