ZX 1.9 Volcane petrol clutch
Hi, I've read the post regarding the replacement of a 1.6 ZX clutch replacement - how similar is the 1.9? I don't have a haynes manual for the car (yet) but if this fully details the clutch replacement then i'll get one as my clutch is slipping and whilst i can afford new plates i can't afford to get it fitted! Any help appreciated...

Should be the same but I'm not sure if any of the petrol ZX's had the pull type clutch like the 2.0 16v petrol xantia and all the 1.9 TD's, if yes then there is a little bit more to it.
Check to see if the inner steel clutch cable is anchored to the box via a non moving bracket, pull type, or if it goes to the clutch release arm in which case its a normal push type.
Push type or pull type refers to the direction the release bearing travels during clutch disengagement, push is towards the engine (normal) and pull is away from the engine.
