Xantia V6 - mystery engine sensor ?

Unread post by Mandrake »

I was wondering if anyone can help me identify the following two sensors on the low front block on the V6 near the oil filter:

I'm particularly interested in the grey one which looks like one wire is cut off ? Either that or it uses the engine block as its earth return... It looks like it could be an oil pressure switch but I didn't think the ES9J4 had an oil pressure switch ? I also have no idea what the green one is...

Grey is the oil pressure switch and green is the oil level sensor I believe.

Quite normal for the pressure switch to have one wire. Citroen do it a lot - using a two pin connector for only one wire...

Yeah the single wire thing gave me the heebie jeebies when I replaced mine... thought I may have broke it or something :) Looks like it's in the exact same place as mine too - as you can see is a piece of cake to replace!

And yup the green is the Level probe.

By pure coincidence whilst I was clearing out the car today I found the one I removed, just to show you're not going mad, you can see the sensor itself only has a single pin :)
