C5 glow plugs, a pain ?

Hello, im new to these forums , ive just bought a C5 54 plate (facelift ) its a lovely comfortable car and i am very happy with it, it does however be a bit of a pain to start in the cold so ive bought some glow plugs and was just wondering how much of a pain they are and how much time i should set aside ?
also i need to replace the drivers headlight bulb, ive tried doing it but failed think i might have to remove the headlight to do this now ? any ideas / advice ?

Well, the glow plugs dont really cause starting issues until the temp gets below freezing.
Depends which engine you have fitted, but to be frank, if you are struggling with the headlamp bulb I would leave the glowplugs to a mechanic

haha see what u mean but prob sound worse than i am, got my hand down the gap between suspension pump/system and headlight just cant get the spring pushed in and out to free the bulb - dont quite have the room for my hands ? i know many newer cars require the lamps removing ( says nout in the manual though ) ive had several minus starts recently and very low 1 or 2 degree starts too so yeah its being a bit of a pain !

The headlight replacement on the C5 is doable without removing anything other than the top plastic cover. However it is very tight and difficult. See if you can get someone with small hands to do it

What engine is your C5? 1.6, 2.0 or 2.2?

Have you tried priming the fuel bulb before starting to see if that improves it? Could be a fueling issue, such as a fuel running back. Glow plugs dont really do much unless its really cold on the HDI, you should just be able to turn the key straight off without waiting for them.

Hi citroen mad, its a 2.0 138 engine, priming made no difference, has been pretty much -1 to 2 degrees here consistently early morning here.

got that blimin bulb done, ended up undoing the very top bolt to get an extra 1mm of movement, made all the difference !
