air conditioner control module location

hi guys!
I am the proud owner of a 2002 Berlingo car.
lately it began having problems with the air conditioner control unit, not the least being its failure to start the engine fans.
point is I can't find the darned module anywhere.
does anyone have knowledge about it location? It doesn't show up even in Haynes' books!

If you unplug the temperature sensor from the head, do the fans start rotating?

yes' I tried it and the darned blowers came up. A friend of mine found out that the pressure sensor of the air conditioner's gas dessicator was leaking and there was no gas: that's what kept the left blower off. it won't even engage the compressor.
BTW, I also found out that the blasted module is UNDER the fuses panel (sort of a basement level) near the steering positioning lock.
