A question for you Renault's fitted with a DP0 4 speed auto, how long are your boxes lasting before they die or need a refurb please, anyone with this data?

Hugely unpredictable.

I've seen cars with fault gearboxes at 40k miles. My Mégane Convertible has this gearbox and is misbehaving at 70k miles, but hopefully a fluid change will be enough to sort it. On the other hand my mum had a Scénic with this gearbox and it was still going strong at 112k miles, and I know of another which has only died at 166k miles

Thanks very much, most helpful, seems there isn't a lot in using dexron3 or LT? I know only one reply isn't conclusive evidence but perhaps its not as critical since Renault specify a different ATF?
