Going through Ebay Citroens, as you do when the beer runs out, it's amazing how much crap some sellers come up with.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Citroen-C5-2- ... 27d0a03cc1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

New shape? No it ain't, and as far as I'm concerned, it could either be a plonker who doesn't know what he's selling, or more importantly, someone trying to con a customer, new to the Citroen C5 brand, into thinking they are getting the latest shape car. :x
This type of thing happens loads of times and it's time Ebay motors got a grip on misleading adverts. At the end of the day, it's up to the buyer to check, but surely the description "new shape" is wrong. If I had the dosh, I'd buy it and then refuse to pay because it's not "as described". Not that I want it you understand, it just gets on my nerves. There are ads on there selling parts and accessories for Citroen C5 New shape 2008> hatchback. Strange, as Citroen don't have a C5 Hatchback from 2008> #-o

That's my rant for this week, nice and early so I can have the rest of the week off. :roll:

I think really if your someone who is wanting to buy a C5III and end up with that its really only your own fault! :lol:

However, I know what they are getting at, that is obviously not the original shape but the facelifted or how it is officially known, the C5II.

In fact that is a very well priced C5, even if it is a petrol. Low mileage and good conidition by the pictures. It also has optional directional Xenons and the Parking Pack too I think.

But it isn't "The new shape" is it? It may be a decent spec, and well priced but it's the phase one facelift (Citroens description)
We know what they are getting at because we know Citroens, but there are more people who wouldn't know that the new model was released in 2008. If you are selling something, you should be honest , and not try to massage the facts. I'm probably just old fashioned, but I don't see any reason to tell porkies.

Citroen refer to it as the C5II in their accessory and parts listings, so that is what I stick to. Otherwise the Germanic C5 is a C5II ...

Yes its not the new model but then a 2008 C5III is not either, as it has been updated since. Someone buying that should know what it is, even if they don't know Citroens, as they will know the model they want and the newer C5 looks nothing like.

I don't agree with the new model term being used but its not the worst advert I've seen.

That would go through where i work for approx £1000 to 1100 so his price seems realistic. If it were an HDi £1400-1500 at auction and would retail at £2200-2500.
C5's really are that cheap at auction.

Its a 2.0 petrol, petrol C5s really are not worth very much, no matter what the age or mileage.

I'd think if it were a HDi with 40K and 2005 it would be worth about £3000 - £3250 retail. My 40K 56plate went for quite a bit more than that and had numerous people after it.

I was until I got one, wouldn't run anything else now (except perhaps a Peugeot) I paid £300 fo my 2.2 estate and its been a brilliant car - apart from the fuel consumption once I had sorted a few problems out. Its for sale now .... :)

If you look on Ebay you'll see that every other 2004 54 reg Citroen is a series 1 so in fact this car on a 54 plate is technically a "new shape" for the year :-D 8-[ :oops: [-X

There are a few other 54 places on the "new shape" (series 2) but they are late 54reg 2005 one. :| :-k :peaceman: :sulk:
