My last problem, honest. No power when cold 2.2hdi C5

Post by waynedance »

Firstly thanks to all that helped over last few months.

Short story, went in floods, replacement engine, clutch, dual mass, air mass meter, vac pipes seem to be in right places, swirl flaps working (moves back when engine on tick over and forward over 2100 revs).

In the morning or after work the car has no power, pull of in first and in to second and you can put foot to floor but will hardly rev and takes an age to get anywhere. After a few miles or warmed a little or is good and drives normal, you could pull off in second if needed. Not sure if the fault is vac related or something to do with it being cold. I did adjust the accelerator cable at the engine end and is at the end of its adjustment but again runs fine after a few miles.

Mine was a bit like that. Dead temperature sensor so the engine always thought that it was warm. Crap when cold, crap when warm but not quite as crap.

Temp gauge seems to work normal or is it not same sensor?

Came out of work today after sitting for ten hours and when revving you have to really push the pedal a lot to get any revs but after a few miles you only have to press pedal slightly to get rev the engine.
