Airbag/Pretension warning?

Post by ankou »

Good Evening All,

Just a quick one, when I got in the C5 and turned it on today, it flashed up the Airbag/Seatbelt Pretentioner Faulty warning with the service light on, after a few mins of driving they both went off. Now everytime I turn the car on the same happens, any clues?

Thanks in advance :)

There are no pretensioner connections under the seats on the mk1 C5 as the pretensioners are in the inertia reels not the stalks.
Yes you need to remove the polystyrene cover to see the connectors.

Hi Guys

The car is a 2oo5 1.6d VTR Estate BTW

Well I took out the carpet and looked the under the polystyrene false floor on the passengers side...ZERO connections, there is a a loom in a flat protection box but no connectors inside.
Is it a good thing to take out the seats and put new connectors on / will a Lexa session show the connection that is faulty ?

AND.....where the heck will my connectors be :)

Any help gets a smile :)

No, it will only show the circuit that is at fault, you then have to find out where it's at fault.
I'm not 100% sure if the mk2 C5 has the same connectors in the same place as the mk2 has quite a different electrical system, I somehow just assumed yours was a mk1. I've also just assumed this is a RHD car ?? The LHD versions won't have them either.

NP....and it is a RHD...:)

Well, the next question.....Auto Electrician or Garage for this type of fault ?

I'd say someone with a Lexia to at least give you a starting point of where to start looking.
