Hi All!
Finally got round to trying to change a faulty front abs sensor on my Xantia and have ran into what i think could be quite a big problem! I have managed to shear the bolt that secures the sensor to the hub (doh!!) and the sensor is stuck solid in the hub as well!! the other bolt that holds the heat shield on the hub looks like it,s going to have the same problem as well!
Is it possible to drill out the remains of the bolt/ bolts easily and how do you get a stuck sensor out?
Or would i be better off finding another hub from somewhere? has anybody on here got a hub they could sell to me (hopefully somebody who is going to the "X Rally" in April so I could meet them there to collect it)
It,s the drivers side by the way!!
Thoughts anyone?

Re: more abs woes!!!
Steve, I've been exactly where you are
I successfully drilled and re-tapped the hole without any great difficulty really but I did remove the hub carrier from the car to do it. Both the remains of the stud and the cast iron are relatively soft. Drill out before you remove the sensor and then you can use the sensor bolt hole as a convenient drill guide.
I find the best way to extract the old ABS sensor is to grab hold of it with a pair of locking pliers and extract it like a dentist would a tooth... They can get very tight in there.
A good soak in Plus Gas helps too...
