Clarion radio/cd player

My Clarion radio works fine except for the cd part, starts clicking and will not take the cd in at all. If I nip down to Halfords and get me any radio/cd player, my question is...will the radio stations still show up on the dashboard of my C3 ? stupid question I know, but I`m just thinking will I have a blank screen up on the dash.

Normally a Lexia is needed just to tell the car you have changed the radio, but I beleve the "Free VIN codeing" eliminates this need, and its plug and play.

There is no code on these later units..
