zx sunroof jammed

1992 zx td.
the sunroof retracts back about 1 inch and then stops, the motor does not seem to have enough power to push it back. sunroof goes up into tilt position with ease though, any advice?

Is it actually going back or just dropping slightly.
Both the BX sunroofs I had would stick (usually in hot weather). All they needed was a little pressure, either down on the rear from outside or forwards from the inside.

the sunroof goes back about an inch and then stops with a creaking noise. i will try sprayin all runners and rubbers with WD40 to see if this helps.
any ideas would be gratefully appreciated!
