Saxo Rear Fog Lamps

Hi

It was brought to my attention recently that the rear fog lamps on my recently purchased Citroen Saxo were not working. Investigation showed that the previous owner had removed the bulbs . . . Being suspicious I thought that there was probably a good reason for him doing this. Having fitted new bulbs I have found that reason! The rear fog lamps are now lit permanently whenever the ignition is on!

Any ideas welcome.

Checking the switch might be a good place to start.
Fused contacts or a broken spring being likely suspects.
