Faults after a collision - advice please.

Post by MonkeyMark »

My car (03 C8 2HDi) was recently hit in the rear.
Since then it shows airbag fault.
The garage (not a Citroen garage) said they could not see that fault but the could see:
BSI (injectors?)
Air con climate regulator (though it seems to work fine)
LED dashboard

This is all i was told. Can anyone shed any light on this or is there anyone in the Durham/Hartlepool or near area's that could hook it upto a tester (are they called Lexia's?) for some beer tokens? (or how do I purchase a tester as i intent to keep the car for a good while)

Cheers, Mark

Hi Mark

The wiring connectors under the front seats can give a false airbag warning but if they can't find a fault anf the light is not on I wouldn't worry about it. If you connect an analyser it will always show up some faults, all that means is that there was a fault not necessaraly that there is now, so if you don't have any warning lights and everything seems to work OK don't worry about it.

Thanks for that.
The airbag fault is showing lights, and warns on the LCD display each time the ignition it turned.
Using the dissable option, for when using child seats, seems to make no difference.

In the past there has been water in the drivers footwell which I'm still trying to find the cause of (I may have worked this one out, time will tell) this could be to blame.

As for the injector fault.
In the bad weather I hit flood water (dark road and didn't see it) and it ripped off a cowling going around what I think is the diesel cooler or pre heater or similar. That could be that one I suppose. It bent the bracket that bad I'm not sure how it goes back on. ( pictures anyone?).

Hi. I would like to contact one of your DIS-LEXIA owners who lives near me, and I have looked everywhere except the right place for instructions on how to do that :?

The person I am looking for is DURACELL. Can you, or anyone else help me?

If DURACELL sees this, please feel free to contact me directly by email.

I dont think duracell has logged in for a while..

You be better off going to your message tab at the top left and composing a direct private message to him.

Just put his user name in the add box and write a message. He will then get an email to his personal email box telling him he has a message..

If you don't have any luck with Duracell, I'm up in Gravesend for the next week, and I think h2ocooler is in the medway towns.

Thanks. I searched everywhere last night for that but failed - not used to this forum layout yet. I'll try him now. =D>
